When trying to find top talent, data is your friend. There's so much insight to be gained from understanding the work habits, behaviours and aspirations of your talent pool. Yet, a recent report from Capita Resourcing found that HR Professionals aren't making the most of the data they have.
The workplace is transforming with Artificial Intelligence (AI) taking on many process driven tasks. That is enough to strike fear into many people who want to protect their jobs. But, Capita's ‘Insight Edge to Talent Acquisition' report isn't gloomy. It states that AI and automation in the workplace will not diminish or de-value the contributions made by human workers. In fact, while technology and robots will take on more repetitive and mundane work, it will be the skills, vision and creative thinking of employees that will make the difference.
To bring that creativity and vision to the workplace, HR Professionals need to be able to use data to attract the right candidates. Capita’s report found that 83% of business leaders know they need to improve their use of data within talent acquisition. Yet, although most organisations are attempting to use data to reduce costs, improve candidate experience and increase ‘quality of hire’, they are struggling to get the insight they need.
One of the reasons given for this is a lack of skills and capability. It seems it is human error that is holding businesses back and that means teams are resorting to guess work. Almost half (46%) of organisations admitted to relying on ‘instinct and gut feel’ when it came to assessing the current skills in their workforce and planning ahead.
Put insight first with a business intelligence solution
Instinct over insight will only get you so far. However, a business intelligence solution, that's designed for you, could make all the difference. By being intuitive and user-friendly, your HR teams will be able to access and analyse your data, spot trends and make informed decisions.
No amount of AI in the workplace will replace the need for that human touch. However, it's data-driven insight and analytics that will help you recruit successfully and plan for the workforce of the future.
